End of Winter & 3x Tourney!

LXC wrapped up our winter with skills weeks, team practices, then we headed into our club 3x tournament weekend! We are so proud of the progress our players have made through the winter months! We see so much growth in our players who show up to skills nights and team practices and put the work in! Our end of winter 3x tourney is a celebration of all of our hard work, we do this so our players can have tons of FUN. 3x is a creative way to switch it up a bit while still focusing on stickwork fundamentals: soft hands, direct passing, shooting accuracy. It also works on our Lax IQ- the 3v2 play helps keep us sharp by honing in on quick ball movement, fast decision making, deceptive passing, and making the 1 more pass in man-UP play. Defensively it helps us work on big fundamentals such as communication, playing big, being aggressive defenders and reading the play. Our coaches and players all had a blast and it was the perfect way to cap off our winter and carry us into SPRING!

We also LOVE seeing our LXC Alumni dominate college lacrosse!

GOOD LUCK to all of our high school players who have already started their seasons, and our HS player who will start next week! We cannot wait to follow all of your seasons and see you be leaders for your high school!

To our youth players- we are anxious to get started with our Spring League and to see you all crush it in your town play! Our first spring league practice is on Saturday, March 23rd @ UP! Then competition starts up in April in 3 locations: UP Weymouth, The Edge Bedford & Forekicks Marlboro. We are looking forward to warmer weather and all things SPRING LAX!

2029s:

Sophie Roberts & Lillian Paisner! Sophie was a force end to end. She showed off her great shots and field vision on attack and was an interception and GB machine on defense. On attack, Lilly did a great job reading her defender, creating space, and getting the ball in the back of the net. With the ball in her stick, looked to goal first and was never afraid to drive, but did a great job keeping her head up and looking for open teammates. Keep up the good work ladies!

Beantown Battle Recap!

What a fun morning of lacrosse at BEANTOWN BATTLE on Sunday! With a crazy unpredictable winter storm in the mix, it could not keep us from showing up and competing hard and crushing it!!! Our 2024 has been great so far, with a week of training leading into this fun 4v4 tournament! Beantown Battle is so great for its scaled down format, 4v4 at one 1 cage and quick games! By shrinking the field down it turns this into a super fast paced tournament with lots of touches! We could really see the small sided drills we’ve been working through this winter come to life on Sunday! Please see below for some players of the tournament!

And now, onto our Players of the Weekend…

2030s:

Katie Odonnell! She played really well at Beantown Battle. Small sided tournaments show lax IQ and stickwork ability and Katie shined in that setting. She is showing considerable improvement all season long and BB was icing on the cake for her. I am excited to see her continue to improve on her communication and lead the team on the defensive side of the ball as we move through the winter season.

Stella Ladimer! Stella immediately stood out to me. She took charge on the field and was reliable on offense and was constantly sliding to help on defense with a good idea of what was going on around her. She was also a great teammate and always cheering on her friends from the sideline. So much fun to work with!

Ashlynn Krueger! She made incredible saves on Sunday! She had consistently great clears and an intense willingness to save!

Itan Rozy! Not only did Itan do double duty and play goalie for two teams during Beantown Battle, but she was clutch in net for us. Itan stopped a lot of point blank shots and her saves allowed us to compete in every game. We won or tied every game and only lost in the semi-finals in a Braveheart. Itan’s focus and mental toughness really stood out today, we are so proud of her!

High School:

Cecilia McKeigue! As a defender she really pushed herself today. She worked to be an option on attack. She also really stepped up with some big defensive stops in our last game.

Mia Francis! She worked very hard and was a standout in each game. She won a brave heart for us and she took direction very well when given to her.

Alex Hughey!  Alex played consistent defense and offense all tourney. Was a leader on the sideline supporting other players while discussing with teammates in game adjustments to improve overall team play.

Zoe Conroy! Zoe drove hard to cage today with conviction and confidence . Her energy and hard work were positive contributions to the team today. Bravo ZDawg!

End of 2023!

With the conclusion of Winter Week TWO last week and heading into our last week of skills before the New Year, we have lots to reflect on! We are so proud of the progress we have seen so far this year! Our players have demonstrated unwavering hard work, dedication, and passion to keep improving. Week after week we have seen our players show up to sharpen their skills and improve individually and with their teams! As the Holidays approach, we encouraged everyone to come to training sessions in their Holiday swag and we have been loving to see everyone having so much with it!!! What a great way to end the year!

Individually this is a perfect time for each of our players to reflect on the highs and lows of the year: What did you feel good about/do well? What were some of the most stand out moments for you? What are some big accomplishments you are proud of from the year? What can you improve on moving forward into 2024? What are your 2024 goals? After goal setting, it’s important to also reflect on specific and measurable systems you can incorporate that will help you ACHIEVE those goals! For example, if your goal is to improve your non-dominant hand: how many times per week are you going to do wall ball? How many reps? Will you push yourself at skills nights to do every drill with your non-dom? What are other ways you can improve? December has been a month of training hard! We are excited to pick back up competition when we come back in January! We need everyone to be READY!

As we take a couple weeks off from training, we wish all of our Laxachusetts families the Happiest Holidays & New Year! We hope everyone enjoys time with family and friends and takes time to reset and prep for an incredible 2024!

Bring on the NEW YEAR!

WINTER Week ONE!

LXC was firing on all cylinders as we launched our winter training! We had some post Thanksgiving training with position nights and the start of skills in some locations, but now we are going in every location! We have skills during the week in FIVE different locations with so many opportunities to TRAIN. Our players and coaches love skills nights for their fast paced environment with high reps and every drill is intense and focused! We are going to continue to work hard on our stickwork and specifically our stickwork under pressure. We will also be tuning up our 1v1 dodging, shooting and defensive skills. We want to see our Attackers working HARD to get to goal. Defense needs to continue to focus on moving their feet and not relying on their sticks. Winter is a time where we get better!!! On top of our skills nights, we have our weekend TEAM practices, Saturdays in Marlboro and Sundays in Weymouth, where we get to break out in our teams and work through tactical concepts to make us GREAT!

Now let’s go and have another amazing week of skills to give us momentum into our practices scheduled for Saturday and Sunday! All of these group sessions are designed to foster teamwork, build our tactical game, and strengthen our collective spirit. Let’s make it a great week filled with hard work, progress, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

ready, set, Let’s Go!
